My Fireside Prediction

My cynical (but accurate) prediction of the Idaho "SSA-themed" fireside that's happening next weekend:

A whole bunch of gay Mormons are going to meet a whole bunch of other gay Mormons and within a couple of weeks 75% of them will be confessing in the bishop's office because they hooked up with someone from the conference.

And the other 25 percent will just magically disappear from the church. Who needs confession anyway? :P

I'm not quite that optimistic. I hope it is 75%, but I am guessing it will be more like 50%.

GS,

I think you are wrong on that one. The other 25% are the people who are too socially awkward to find someone else to hook up with. ;)

Thankfully, I'm no longer in that bottom 25% socially awkward group.

Awh :(. I'm personally happy it's happening.

Is that what happened at the Matis Firesides?

Maybe I should schedule a little vacation to Idaho.

And what about the 90% of the people who should go but are too afraid to show their faces? Honestly, how many people do you think are actually going to go?

Evan, I have never attend a Matis fireside, so I can't give first-hand info. But, I have heard from people who did/do attend it that the post-fireside hookup is a very common event.

Horizon, I'm curious as to how many will show up to it. And I would appreciate it if they did it in multiples of 4 so that my statistical prediction works out.

El Genio! Why don't you ever come hang out with us any more?

Ha, it's possible. Yes, there's hooking up at the Matises', but I don't know what percentage I'd estimate. As for this Idaho fireside, I think there will be relatively few "strugglers" or, in a different camp, gay folks there. I expect many more priesthood leaders and community members than "SSA" folk, but I'll have my gaydar on full power to estimate percentages.

Well, take it from someone who attended, there were less SSA people than there were the loved ones of the gay/bi people. So, it was less hook-up-ish, than what it may seem.

Hmmm. That's a little disappointing, especially for those who went with the intent of getting a date. :P
